Bright Beginnings Early Childhood Centre proudly provides safe and high-quality care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We are licensure by the Ministry of Education to take children between the ages of 16 and 3 years. We follow “How Does Learning Happen” and Ontario’s Early Learning Framework carefully in a family-sized group with connections and support. We have a family atmosphere here where families feel welcome. We want to discover the different strengths and interests of each child ages 3 to 5 years. Our program offers exploration, play, and activities to engage children in learning about the outdoors and nature. We believe that learning in the natural world is beneficial. Our families’ involvement as partners offers us a deeper understanding of every child. Parents are encouraged to share their stories and family details with us. We have many opportunities for parents to be actively involved with their children’s learning. Special program or projects, sharing interests and skills, and visits to programs are all available for parents to get involved. There are two groups for preschool children. One group of children will consist of 16 and two teachers. Another group can include 10 children and one teacher. There will be outdoor, morning, and afternoon preschool programs. During the week, children will be learning about the natural world and going on field trips. Our educators will watch the children and speak to them. We plan activities for them and work through situations with them. We learn about what interests them and what they are good at. At one time, we may focus on one thing that interests them. We involve children from the start in planning what they want to do to ensure that children are engaged in their learning. Children must learn how to work together, solve problems, cooperate, deal with others, listen, follow instructions, and be kind. Children must combine q cognitive and social development. We use play to help children develop pre-reading and pre-math skills. The games and activities are based on the observations of the child. We help children grow in confident and to take risks. Time to relax is provided for children aged 3 to 5 years. Between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., children can bring a light blanket or soft toy to put on their cots. If children aged 3 to 5 haven’t fallen asleep by 1:30, they can come to the Wake-Up program from 1:30 to 2:30. We offer games and activities for children to do based on their development, interests, and skills. Families are asked to send photos of their children's family members so that we can post them on the walls.
