Fox Hill Dance Academy

Fox Hill Dance Academy, located at the expressed address in Indianapolis, Indiana, and welcoming everyone, has offered ballet, jazz, and tap lessons to children and adults since 2003. Our company, which has always lived in the heart of the neighborhood, has always aimed to offer dance lessons free of bias. Ballet, jazz, and tap classes are taught by certified teachers at our company. We provide a small class size for our ballet classes. Our students have performed with Ballet International, Ballet Austin, and other organizations. Our students have obtained dance scholarships to respected universities such as Butler University, Indiana University, and Western Kentucky. Our ballet curriculum has changed over the years to incorporate the Vaganova and Cecchetti techniques, which were available at premiere ballet schools in the United States, such as Indiana University (formerly the Jacobs School of Music) and the National Ballet Academy in Austin. Our special program, developed by the ballet school, was designed to benefit the children. Our students did not have a forced turnout complex and our teachers have avoided standard ballet tactics that are linked with abnormal jumps in a child's physical development and potential for life-long injuries. Our artistic home is the historic Oliver Johnson 1850 homestead, which was part of an "underground railway" in its heyday. We were in the structure beforehand, part of the property and the business. Our ballet school had been in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood for over 10 years. Both the business owners and the property owners are neighborhood locals and active members of the neighborhood. The ballet organization is a long-standing, stable institution that has always taken care of the area.
