Elysian Coffee - Burrard & Helmcken began by roasting, brewing and sourcing our own coffee. It was a long journey that took hours of careful measurement, analysis, and tweaking. Our work has always been complicated, but it has now given way to simplicity. At Elysian, our job is to give you a delicious, uncomplicated coffee. Alistair Durie established Elysian in 2000. Since then, many things have changed. The coffee industry has evolved so much. Different brewing techniques have appeared, and the use of refractometry to measure cup quality was a topic of conversation. After nearly two decades of experimentation, change, and odd discussions, it is apparent that great coffee is presented humbly and straightforwardly, no matter your tastes. We do the work in the back of the shop so that when you order coffee, it's good, simple, and ready.
