Island Rhythmic is a gymnastics-specific small fitness facility in Victoria BC. We employ nationally-certified coaches and highly-respected specialists to offer excellent instruction. Rope, hoop, and ball are part of the recreational apparatus skill program, as are ribbons, scarves, and ribbons. Rhythmic gymnastics apparatus skills are developed. Participants learn balance, turn and jump techniques and are encouraged to coordinate their movements with those of all participants. Emphasis is placed on how participants execute each exercise and the challenge they face. Participants will be challenged based on the instructor's judgment of their ability throughout class and session. Specific skills will be incorporated into a rhythmic gymnastics routine, which will be performed during a presentation at the end of the session. The recreational apparatus skill class is designed to introduce children aged 6 through 12 to rhythmic gymnastics while also giving them basic equipment skills. This class aims to take gymnasts to the next level by providing a challenging yet attainable environment to complete apparatus skills. We also strive to instill a love of rhythmic gymnastics in our participants, even though one of the key goals of this class is to instill a love of rhythmic gymnastics. Rhythmic gymnastics is also known as "folk rhythm" gymnastics and is a form of rhythmic gymnastics that combines dance and gymnastics steps with music. Children's music is played in the background while the child performs a series of gymnastics steps to the music. Rhythmic gymnastics involves the child learning to move around the floor and perform steps and movements, in rhythm to the music. The child is then taught a sequence of movements or a routine that they will follow to the song. The goal of the rhythmic gymnastics programs is to instill a love for the sport of the child in the child. This program is designed to be easy to follow, easy to learn, and easy to perform. It is designed to encourage the child to develop coordination, balance, and flexibility in a fun and easy-to-learn environment. Children with a natural affinity for dancing or gymnastics may benefit from these programs as they will enjoy developing their skills at their own pace. The recreational class is for children ages 6 through 12. Each child will be challenged by the instructor throughout the class and session. The child will be encouraged to improve their skills as they progress through the class and session. The instructor will be there to assist the child as they learn new gymnastics skills. The child will be encouraged to develop an awareness of other class participants, as they will be working closely with them. This will allow the child to develop social skills and make new friends. The child will be required to wear a leotard or shorts and a T-shirt to each class. Shorts may be worn over the leotard in the summer if the child is uncomfortable in it. Shorts should not be excessively baggy. Tights or dance pants may be worn over the shorts. The child will also need to bring a water bottle. The child will be asked to bring the water bottle to each class. The child will be given a water break at the instructor's discretion. The child should bring a pair of clean gym shoes to each class. The child should bring these shoes to each class. The child should wear these shoes while performing gymnastics. This class will be a challenging and fun program for the child to participate in. The child will be challenged according to his/her ability, and the instructor will assist the child to reach his/her goals. The child will enjoy this class and will have a great time.
