Carbo Kwan Criminal Defence

Carbo Kwan was born in Truro (Nova Scotia). Carbo Kwan Criminal Defence is run by Carbo Kwan, who is the only practitioner in criminal defence. In May 2017, she was admitted to the Bar of Ontario and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Carbo was called to Nova Scotia's Bar in October 2017 and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society. She earned her Law Degree from the University of Manchester in 2012. Carbo always knew she was fascinated by criminal defence. Carbo's interest was sparked early on at the Elgin-Oxford Legal Clinic, St. Thomas (Ontario), where she worked during her time as an articling student. St. Thomas’s community, consisting of around 50,000 citizens with a large portion on social assistance, was where she lived temporarily to meet her licensure requirements for Ontario. Clients in need of legal advice on disability or landlord/tenant issues or victims of crimes looking for compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board sought help from their local legal clinic. Her experience with these clients made her realize that, due to the high number of individuals in need, affordable and available legal services are crucial.
