After previously relocating to New York City from the Baltimore and Fells Point waterfront, the Steven Scott Gallery moved back to Baltimore in January 2009. The gallery moved into Fells Point, which will cater to its conscious, urban collectors. The gallery now has its largest space, which boasts 25-foot timbered ceilings and numerous skylights. A barn-like structure has been reconstructed as the gallery after being disassembled from a farm in upstate New York. The original building was built as the Conference and Visitor Center of the Preservation Society of Fells Point in 2000, and now the space allows the gallery's artist to display their art in an impressive, natural setting along Baltimore's Historic waterfront. Your visit is highly anticipated. The gallery specializes in modern paintings and works of paper from emerging, established, and mid-career American artists. It currently represents 20 artists, learn about them by clicking this artists link. Either call to arrange an appointment, or come by for a visit during regular business hours. Steven Scott was born and raised in Baltimore and received his MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art. In 1988, he founded the Steven Scott Gallery. The gallery has changed its name many times throughout its 26-year history to hide its identity and location. The gallery has organized over 200 gallery exhibits featuring its artists' works on paper and paintings, as well as placed the works of his artists in many museum collections and exhibitions. The gallery is still committed to promoting and selling its artists' works.
