After earning a BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish, Dr. Ferris spent time away from her training in order to take up professional dance, including ballet, jazz and hip-hop. She also performed for well-known performers such as Britney and Will Smith. She developed a deep interest in medicine because of her athleticism, which helped to develop an understanding of human physiology. She quickly discovered her love for skin care. Her passion for dermatology grew at the University of Miami Medical School in Miami, FL. She even took a year off to focus on dermatologic research. During her training she was involved with dermatology medical societies and interest groups.
