Horrible service. Alberta Blue Cross took almost 3 months to deny treatment to my facial palsy even with my neurologist's prescription. The condition doesn't allow me to blink with the right eye and causes phonology issues and constant biting of my cheek. I will pay the treatment from my pocket. Definitely I do not recommend this company.
The sales rep that signed me up blatantly lied about my coverage. I asked for two items - dental and optical. I wait 3.5 months to go for an eye exam and when I get I go to pay, my Alberta Blue Cross has NO COVERAGE?! So basically I paid hundreds of dollars in payments, yet do not have coverage?! Insane. The sales rep also would not return my calls and emails. I guess once they sign you up, they are done with you. When I called in and spoke to another customer sales rep, they convinced me to upgrade. However when I found out I did not have the coverage I asked for, I asked them to just cancel the plan. She said they require a letter and it would take over a month to go into effect. So basically, keep paying for absolutely nothing. It's unfortunate that these huge corporations can get away with raping customers. UPDATE: Still waiting for a customer service rep to call me, I guess maybe next year?!
I was ready to cancel our Alberta Blue Cross coverage due to poor service while on vacation earlier this year. I was able to resolve the issue upon returning home. When I called to review services with thoughts of cancelling, I was fortunate to speak with Sandeep Mahajan. He restored my confidence in the company by providing excellent advice on using the app and navigating through the different classes of insurance. A thoroughly pleasant experience and I renewed our policy with Alberta Blue Cross.
I've been with Four Health Insurance Companies over my lifetime, depending on who I worked for. unfortunately being self employed I needed to save money, my fifth choice was BLUE CROSS because they were the lowest priced in the insurance company. There is a reason they're cheaper, they're HORRIBLE!! Claims are "Always" Denied, you have to phone to find out why, then they try to blame you the client for their errors. Management gives you nothing but lip service, if they even call you back! 10-15 Business Days for a Claim, the Answer which is always No after waiting that long and until you call them back asking why after they said yes. They (Blue Cross) downright LIES to you. They tell you you're 100% covered (In Writing No Less) only to deny your claim, without any real; given reason. ALWAYS, not once, not twice, not three times, but ALWAYS!
Health Insurance Companies aren't perfect, but BLUE CROSS is the WORST of the WORST!! I honestly don't know how they're still in business??
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Stephen P. from Blue Cross: amazingly helpful, proactive, thorough, and compassionate. He went over and above in offering advice and providing help. He made sure the the issue was resolved and took the time to make certain that those issues were completely addressed. Amazing client service. Well done, Stephen and Blue Cross.
I had the very best customer experience today. Christine was patient and explained all the different policies and looked at all three policies from several different approaches. She made a typically stressful decision-making process educational and stress-free. I would not hesitate to recommend her to future clients. Your worker Shannon Brooks has restored my confidence in Blue Cross. Recently she was extremely helped in upgrading my membership in such a professional and caring manner. Being a senior with an Irish accent I found her to be very knowledgeable & extremely patient , taking time to explain in detail my coverage. Thank you again Shannon.
