DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS! CHEAP SLUMLORDS! Raising the rent when the place isn't even WORTH what they're charging, as if things aren't expensive enough and it's not hard enough to live in the world, they have the odacity to charge an extra 200 dollars on top of this outrageously already ridiculous amount of money for these dumpy places that aren't even worth it, and they only fix things all of a sudden only so they have an excuse to charge you extra for the place, otherwise your complaints get ignored, Incompetent staff, untrained, and unprofessional disgusting company who are a bunch of leeches who will rip you out of all your money! And they illegally cover themselves taking NO RESPONSIBILITY for damages to your proerty even if something IS their fault! It's very obvious this company is writing all those positive reviews for themselves, you can tell because every single positive review written is from THEIR location of their company and has no other reviews and is obviously all fake! I will be reporting them to the landlord and tenant act and the health system of Canada and we'll see just how much their places are worth THEN, and going on the news with this!~

Called three times on Thursday regarding a broken AC unit. We forwarded to answering machines the first two times, and the third time we were told someone would call us Friday morning. By noon on Friday, there was no one had called us back, so we called again. Still no action. We called again on Saturday the "emergency" line told us that AC is not an emergency. I beg to differ that AC is not an emergency in the middle of an "extreme heat wave" for people who work from home.

Oh Emerald Management.. let me count the ways.... First, it's obvious to note that tenants rate Emerald management low and owners rate them high. I rate them low as well but my landlord is currently selling his condo and doesn't think much of them either. So here's my list: 1. No security cameras outside the building. Car gets broken into twice in the parking lot.. still no cameras. After second time my battery was flat and I could not get it towed. My car was towed without warning and I was charged $600 in towing and impound fees which they will not refund. They insist they gave me notice but they did not. 2. Amazon had a problem with delivering packages at the apartment building. One of the drivers contacted me because I was one of the only tenants that answered. I asked the landlord to give me a phone number so that Amazon could contact them.. seems reasonable right? But no, I guess that the tenants are so irate with most of the time they probably don't want to give their phone number to anyone. I forwarded the Amazon person's name and number to them as requested. I then asked for confirmation that my email was received and I got a very lippy response.. here's looking at you Tonya. Amazon contacted me again 6 weeks later because they were still having difficulty. When I contacted the landlord 5 weeks after that to follow up again, I got a very lippy email from Tonya again saying that the issue had been fixed one week ago... Congratulations Emerald management for taking 10 weeks to fix the Amazon delivery issue! In Tonya's defense, many Emerald employees rated it as a poor place to work. 3. Would it be too much to pick up garbage around the building? 4. So they were having a problem with the door not closing all the way in the winter. So instead of fixing the bloody door they decided to disconnect the pneumatic closing mechanism. The result was that the door that the door was fully open, not only letting in the cold weather but also anybody passing on the street that wanted to enter. And how long did this take to get fixed? I mean, hey, it's not like it's an important issue or anything to anybody living there.. and it's Christmas... so obviously 10 days should be soon enough. Yay. 5. And last weekend, the power went off in the entire building. The battery backup emergency lighting didn't work so the hallways were pitch black. My landlord told me it was because building management didn't pay their electric bill. Today I got an email from management to prepare us for the annual fire inspection 3 weeks from now... And a warning that we will would be charged for locksmith services if we didn't provide access to our apartments. Yeah, I kind of like that threat... Hey, Emerald management, would you have compensated us if someone needed emergency medical help and the ambulance couldn't operate the intercom because the power was out all weekend? Hey, Emerald management, what if there was a fire during that weekend and people couldn't see to exit the building at night because the battery backup for the emergency lighting and exit signs wasn't working? And... What about the upstairs fire doors on the 4th floor? Why they have they been propped open for the last 10 weeks? Is it because they are broken and falling off the hinges? Would you like me to mention that fire code violation to the fire inspector Emerald management? Or will the impending fire inspection be enough to get you off your asses to actually fix something in this building.... Like the laundry room which doubles as some sort of workman's untidy storage, has falling ceiling tiles, and has a broken door leading to an unsecured utility room? Why haven't you emailed tenants about ALL of that, Emerald management?? Beware tenants. Beware owners.
