June is Pride Month, and Canadian Mercer colleagues, whether they identify within the LGBTQ+ community or as allies, it is a time to acknowledge the gains made and the work left to be done. A strength of these initiatives is they can be more visible and tangible than other E&F investments. Many organizations are also identifying that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), are directly linked to health and well-being and we need to act together to create a better future for all. Many E&Fs also have seen an increase in donations. E&Fs are making progress in their efforts to address these issues and increase their impact on Canadian society. Historically, there was always a focus on DE&I, but for the first time in 2020, more than 75% of E&Fs in Canada had initiatives specifically to address DE&I. Their work is now starting to bear fruit. The well-being metric is critical in demonstrating the success ratio. In general, many E&Fs in Canada have seen an improvement in their health over the past few years.
