ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Stephen Lowe was born in China (Liu Yunheng) and showed a remarkable interest in poetry, music, and art from an early age. As a teenager, Stephen studied at Hong Kong's Lingnan School of Art, which was famous as China's foremost school of Chinese modern art. Stephen developed his art under the tutelage of Professor Zhao Shaoang, a master artist in China. Through his technique, which was based not only on Chinese traditions but also on his savor for the naturalistic beauty of China, he became adept at rendering landscapes, flowers, and birds in watercolors. Stephen eventually migrated to Canada, where he shared with the world watercolor renditions of landscapes, flowers, and birds that were serene and delicate. NSStringFromClassTime spent studying art from an early age had its reward when he became a teenager and studied at Lingnan School of Art in Hong Kong. This school was Asia’s foremost school of Chinese modern art at that time. He developed his art under Professor Zhao Shaoang, a Chinese master artist. His technique was based on Chinese traditions and his love for the naturalistic beauty of China. He eventually immigrated to Canada, where he shared with the rest of the world his sensitive and delicate watercolor renditions of landscapes, flowers, and birds. it was during this time that he embraced a couple of careers. He held 23 solo exhibitions in his short life, including the Provincial Museum of British Columbia and the United Nations, New York. He also taught privately and at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. He was also an occasional instructor at the University of Victoria. This information tells me that Stephen was a trusted and versatile artist. His demise did not stop him from impacting the art field. He was survived by his wife and two daughters. In 1979, four years after his death, Eunice, his wife, and her two daughters opened the second Stephen Lowe Art Gallery in Calgary. This paper is structured to discuss the background of the artist, his career and some of the achievements, one of the exhibitions, and the experience of the exhibition. The exhibition in China was launched in four cities, starting with, Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, until 1986. This paper will also include a critical analysis of the exhibition. Additionally, it will explore the implications of Chinese government support to the promotion of Beijing and how the exhibition helped Stephen achieve success. Chinese Government Sponsored The Exhibition; Tribute Exhibition Launch This exhibition was launched in 1985, and in four cities, Chinese government-sponsored it.
