Mediocre at best. I’ve come in the past couple years for my kids and it’s the same gear every year. Even the displays are the same. Y’all on a tight budget? Your displays, props, & posters been the same and are fading and are more ashy than my knees.
I don’t know why they just recycle inventory like it’ll do something come next season. If you’re looking at the north face selection, forget it. You will see the same gear year in and year out. It’s easy to go to MEC, JD Sports, Sportcheck, & champs / footlocker to get more selection. The north face account sucks. Another clothing brand that is on the rise called “Taikan” is taking over the street wear culture by storm. Featured on hypebeast and complex. I doubt they even know what this is. Why is the selection the same thing from when they’ve started?
Random brands names like RDI & Blu Pepper? With an 80% mark up? A quick google search you can’t find a website, LinkedIn, or source any affiliate with “RDI/Blu Pepper”. So what’s the at cost & MSRP for this foolishness. Find this brand in your nearest Walmart for half the cost that the “Family Owned” company is charging. I guess this is how the owners stay afloat to balance out net zero after they need to do inventory for their higher tier brands.
Your guys’ website is actually out dated as well. Everything you try to click, the tab freezes and you have to refresh your browser just to navigate. The impressions and actions to make a website are so easy to fix this is just negligence on the “family companies” part. Basic coding & website building a high schooler can do these days.
The identity of this website makes no sense. Culture Kings. Zumiez, karmaloop, SSENSE, have more in common compared to this cluster.
Another thing as well, why is your guys social media presence so weak. With having stores all over Canada, the best you can do is copy and paste images & videos from the brands you carry and call it a day on Instagram? I think the only original content from your marketing team is showing 5 second clips of your stores and the recycled Levis. Don’t even get me started on the TikTok’s. Those aren’t clothing hauls. That is the same girl in the video trying on different outfits. A Clothing Haul is totally different. Please add proof of purchase before you call it a clothing haul. That’s just distasteful for bloggers , vloggers, and fashion consumers.
This is just a mockery of fashion and the culture all together. The real crime is this “family company” charging an astronomical mark up on brands nobody’s heard or seen before and getting away with it. H&M, Zara, and probably even Old Navy have better blanks, basics, joggers and flannels for the fraction of price as well.
Final thoughts: Below The Belt is catered towards Canadian brands but have a weird direction throughout the “family owned” business. The slogan, website, & direction of the store. A one stop shop for Pit Vipers, Carhartt, Caterpillar and.. Tough Duck? Also a fraction of the price on Amazon and your nearest Home Depot. And on the other side skater brands such as 10 tree, volcom. That nobody cares about? I believe Stussy, Made By Wolves, China Town Market, Nike SB, adidas, & Pleasures are real skater brands. Let alone quality brands. Oh zumiez as well.
Let’s mix in TAIKAN which should be the most highlighted brand, with a splash of over priced champion. Not even nice champion. The same recycled champion. Recycled North Face, and a dash of RDI, Blu Pepper, Pyscho Tuna? etc.. all found at your nearest winners & Marshall’s guaranteed (trust me it’s there). Not sure if this is a wannabe Marks Work Warehouse, streetwear flagship store, or Winners/ Zellers/ Marshall’s / Walgreens. This store is the epitome of a garage sale.
This “Family Owned Business” seriously has no vision or direction. It should be called “Waste Management Facility” the way they recycle & upsell customers since it caters heavily on brands that aren’t sold in other retailers in the mall.
Highly suggest staying away from Below The Belt because the only thing they’re taking Below the belt is your money.
