About this business

Janice has co-owned and directed the Blue Quill School of Dance in Edmonton for 19 years. The Edmonton Dance Factory, a studio that Janice introduced and monitored independently in September 2003. Since its beginning, it has grown a lot, with many of its students transitioning into professional dance careers. Janice is a choreographer for many companies, does home and international teaching, and enjoys adjudicating. A minor in dance alumna from the University of Alberta, Janice has also trained in Tap, Jazz Ballet, Musical Theatre, and Musical Theatre. Her fierce career in dance saw her complete the major RAD syllabus, certified in Al Gilbert's and Brian Foley's dance syllabuses and completed RAD certification. Janice has participated in professional studios, workshops, seminars, and competitions throughout Canada and New York. She has been a member of the Alberta Dance Company since its inception and has danced with the company. Her forte as a dance teacher, with more than 30 years in the field of dance, is jazz. Her keen eye and ability to encourage her students into professional dance careers have made her indispensable to the company. Our faculty is well-qualified and committed. We love teaching and believe in the full-bodied dancer. Technique is just a part of it; confidence, focus, and the courage to try in a safe and welcoming environment are equally important. Our full-year program is flexible and forgiving—no class minimum requirements- just the right level to challenge you. We have made sound investments in our facility, including sprung raised dance floors for the students' safety, allowing joints and muscles to develop safely after each drop.

Reviews Summary

Edmonton Dance Factory (EDF) reviews read out loud for the past decade and during the pandemic is evidence of the joy clients feel with Kelsey and the entire staff of the dance studio. The enduring commitment of EDF to the dancers by keeping them engaged and putting their emotional health first has not gone unnoticed. This is evident in how proud and happy they are to be part of the EDF family. The students' long-lasting friendships are brought out by the hundreds of recommendations of the dance studio, which has the most experienced teachers a dance studio could ever wish to have. The EDF dance studio is a must-visit place for anyone wishing peace from a caring community. Resulting in acro training and a parent who is more than satisfied with the training her dancer is receiving, EDF and its teachers are both encouraging role models for the children. Many lifelong friendships have been brought about by this dance studio experience, and they are more than grateful. But, no part or area of the dance studio produces bad scents, which has been the experience of one client and her relatives who are really sensitive to scents and have been dancing with them for seven years. High recommendations to EDF, and any parent looking to enroll their child in the dance studio, which is a place they can happily call econd home for the dancer are given. This means that dancers will love the dance studio and the teachers and develop lasting relationships in a community setting; this is why EDF is the best professional dance studio for dancers.
