Focus Communications was founded in the small Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton office in 2002 by Dean and Sue Heuman. Shareholders shared a boardroom and photocopier. Although the Focus phone only rang for Dean and Sue, the receptionist fielded calls from a few clients like United Cycle and the City of Edmonton. Focus was able to hire its first employee a few years later, and the owners were working twelve-hour days, seven days a week. It was young and very demanding. However, it was impossible to work every day. They didn’t have a lot of work but were in full-time employment. They hired a part-time employee, which was essential to Sue and Dean since they felt responsible for their employees. Focus Communications has become a market leader in marketing, writing, media relations, public relations, graphic design, and video. Focus Communications has become a market leader in marketing, writing, media relations, public relations, graphic design, and video. Through the years, Sue and Dean have become a winning team. They bring this wealth of experience to each project. You'll always find Sue or Dean on every project. Combine knowledge with being local to create Focus. The team now works in a real office with a boardroom. It’s still a communications and marketing company, and they provide personal service.
