Founding of Marr Mac and Mar-Mac Dance & Theatre Arts Deane Marr andJaqueline Mcdonald founded Marr-Mac Dance and Theatre Arts in September 1968. Marr-Mac was a daycare and dance center during its first years. Jaqueline Macdonald, Deane’s mother, managed the institution. Marr Mac has grown to become a dance studio offering high-quality training for recreational and competitive performers. Learner becomes an instructor or pursues an artistic career at Mar-Mac. The institution has a philosophy of more than dance. It creates an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion for all its students. Marie McFarlane is the co-owner and director of The Dance Company. Marie McFarlane began dance training at the age of 2 and has been a teacher and choreographer in every discipline since then. She also specializes in jazz, contemporary, and lyrical. These qualities combine with those of her mother and business partner, Cathy McFarlane. Cathy McFarlane excels in Russian Vaganova ballet. These businesswomen have developed a training program at Mar-Mac with various disciplines. They offer the dancers the opportunity to evolve into all-rounded entertainment professionals and confidently step into the dance industry with many skills.
