About Us Capilano Barbers is a barbershop that has been family-owned and operated since 1960. The shop, which serves the north shore, was purchased by Len Carmichael in the 1970's. He worked there until he joined the Barbers Association of BC. Len was the owner and managed the shop, and Jimmy O'Neil to keep an eye on matters. Since the shop opened, Jimmy has been here. Jimmy continued to work until his death. Brenda was a member of the shop from 1983 to 1983. Capilano Barbers has been in business since 1983 and still thrives today. All ages, including children and men, are welcome. We also have a television! ! Brenda began her training at VVI in 1983 as a barber. She was the first person to take the exam. She was also the first to pass the exam without the need to complete an apprenticeship. She started working at Capilnao barbers in November 1983 after she finished her training. Brenda has held various positions on the Barbers Association's executive and on the exam board for barbers in British Columbia. She is an active member of the community. She has helped with fund raising efforts for cuts for cancer, and she has built up a clientele that ranges from five months old to over 100 years old. Brenda is also able to accommodate clients with sensory and mobility needs.
