Qu Biologics Inc. was founded by Dr. Hal Gunn in 2007 along with Rob Freeman, two-time cancer survivor. The company was established with the intention of developing therapies that could restore health and normalize immune function. Qu Biologics is still committed to this goal, and its Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs) now activate activated innate immunity cell recruitment to organize the organs or tissues in chronic diseases. Qu Biologics focused mainly on cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other debilitating diseases, which have limited effective treatments. Dr. Gunn has been fascinated by the immune system's ability to heal, so in 1997 he co-founded InspireHealth (www.inspirehealth.ca), Canada's leading supportive oncology centres. InspireHealth nutritionists, exercise therapists, counselors, and physicians help people with cancer maintain and improve their health and immune system function during and after cancer treatment. At InspireHealth, Rob met Dr. Gunn, and they discussed their shared interest in the immune system. Qu Biologics started in 2007. Dr. Hal Gunn and Rob Freeman founded it in 2007. To date, Qu Biologics has created four targeted SSIs and healed more than 270 cancer patients in compassionate use programs. The company has raised over CAD$40million in private funding and multiple Phase 2 clinical trials for IBD and cancer. Qu Biologics currently focuses on advancing SSIs, especially QBECO, as an IBD treatment and treating cancer.
