At 17 years old as I entered my final year of high school, I dreamed of being a lawyer. Following my apparent call to legal practice, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology & Sociology from the University of Toronto. Then came my acceptance to Queen's Law School, Kingston, Ontario, and eventually, I was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. Subsequently, I worked as a criminal defense attorney in Hamilton for five years. This position enabled me to participate in many trials both at the Supreme and Provincial courts. I was called to the BC Bar in 2001. Setting up my Nanaimo law office came alongside starting to practice family law. Over the years, my family law practice has grown to include collaboration, mediation, and arbitration. I desired to help people separate and divorce, which led me to pursue a Master of Laws in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School. I also trained in Restorative Justice and volunteered for Victim-Offender mediations at the John Howard Society. Vancouver Island University gave me the opportunity to teach criminal law, conflict resolution, and human rights. In traditional offices, I worked for 11 years and realized that clients weren't being served as efficiently and effectively as I wished. I decided to move my office to my home to provide clients with a calmer, more comforting environment. I offer my services to individuals in Central Vancouver Island from my Nanaimo BC residence.
