We've been with Hemlock Animal Hospital for many years now and would frankly never consider taking our pets anywhere else. Dr. Harry and the staff go above and beyond and truly understand that pets are family. They are experts at addressing ongoing and complicated pet health issues and make every trip to their office comfortable for our furry family members. Recently, our very elderly and sick cat had to be put to sleep and Dr. Harry and the staff that day were very empathetic, kind and considerate. They helped us make the most humane decision based on a balance of medical evidence and compassion. Although it was a difficult day and decision, Dr. Harry's kindness and care made it easier and I truly feel he treated our beloved Sophie with dignity and respect.
Receptionist was polite and said they provide rabbit care, but I would not recommend bringing yours here. -93728473/10. My bunny Goma passed from an infection caused by Hemlock Animal Hospital’s vet injecting 3x the recommended amount of subcutaneous fluid, causing her skin to burst from the pressure and create an open wound.
She initially had a bout of GI stasis and we went to Hemlock for treatment and xray. However, they didn’t give us the medication they prescribed and Hemlock’s vet gave her 3x the amount of subcutaneous fluid, causing her skin to burst and the fluid to leak out of her forearm. I was also suspicious of how she was handled when she was alone with the vet because she came home with a limp and a loss of balance. We were made aware of this after going to Kennedy Heights Animal Hospital (bless them they were very good for rabbits) to get everything she needed and do another check.
She came home from Kennedy Heights with the necessary medication and skin ointment, but took a turn for the worst overnight and we found her this morning. From the bloodwork report, we knew that she was fighting an infection from the open wound but was too far gone for antibiotics to help. Everything including the prescribed Cisapride that was not given, cost $750+
Literally please if you love your pet do not bring them here, they have been known to bribe people for good reviews and abuse animals.
Dr Harry suggested surgery on my dog to remove tumor near from his mouth . Today , surgery succesfully completed and Dr Harry also suggested teeth cleaning during the surgery that I was not able to do it last few years due to his old age. I am so happy the result and extremely relieved after my
best friend life is saved by Dr Harry. Also , staff are very caring, friendly and very informing .Dr Harry always giving estimate before anything need to be done for pet care . Highly recommend them for your vet needs.
Dr Harry performed surgery on my male kitty this past year and saved his life. Great staff and very caring Doctors. Clinic is clean and very inviting. The staff and techs are so nice and very informing. They give you an estimate before surgery. Highly recommend them for your vet needs.
During the pandemic the vet I used to take my pet (dog) to was sold to a big corporation and the quality of the service declined. My pet and I were not happy with the new management.
At that point, I decided to look for a vet in the neighborhood. I was referred by a friend to Hemlock Animal Hospital and I couldn't be happier. It is less pricier than other veterinarians, and everyone from the front desk to the doctors are very efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and loving towards the animals. I highly recommend them!
I continue taking my pet there even though I have moved from Vancouver.
I've taken all three of my cats to Hemlock Animal hospitaland will continue to go there. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I know my cats are in great hands when I take them to this clinic.
Their prices are very reasonable too. I've taken my oldest cat to a few different clinics and either their prices were ridiculous or the staff were rude.
Hemlock an amazing animal hospital.I highly recommend Hemlock.
All of the staff here are super friendly and experienced! We've had quite a few health scares with our 15 year old schnauzer poodle but thanks to Hemlock Animal Hospital, Timmy is happy and healthy. It's very reasonably priced and they only recommend scans/tests that they think are actually necessary. We have been to other vets previously that have tried to push us to have absolutely everything ordered. It's refreshing to know that at Hemlock Animal Hospital they aren't looking for money and they genuinely care about your pets health!
We normally take our 9 year old goldendoodle to BC SPCA Vancouver Animal Hospital for regular care, but weren’t available to address a large skin growth on short notice. Fortunately the fantastic staff and veterinarians at Hemlock Animal Hospital stepped up and provided wonderful care during her surgery and dental cleaning. It is a very clean and professional environment. They were more professional and faster than SPCA, will not be going back to SPCA. We are fortunate to have access to this wonder clinic in Vancouver.
The vet did not help us at all and did not seem to understand or listen to what I was trying to tell him. The desk staff was great though.
Don’t take your pet here. That seems to be what other vets had heard lately too- the VCA was not surprised to hear I had a bad experience there more than once.
