JA British Columbia (JABC)

JABC is the province's only non-profit organization offering a diverse array of education programs for young people, including financial literacy and work readiness. For 65 years, JABC has helped students mitigate the skills gap, engaging over 60,000 young British Columbians in grades 4-12 annually. They deliver programs flexibly, with teacher-led lessons in the classroom and self-directed online options, and offer volunteer support. JABC education programs are parallel to B.C.’s curriculum, and all resources are in French and free of charge, thanks to JABC sponsors and donors. We value diversity deeply and endeavor to make our programs open and inclusive. We value all people- their experiences, backgrounds, and abilities. Our resources promote understanding and acceptance, regardless of religion, language or gender. We aim to promote inclusivity and respect for all individuals. This aligns with our vision that all people be treated as equals without bias or prejudgement. People’s creativity is only limited by a lack of inclusivity, so we support all ideas and talents. We prepare our students to succeed and recognize the value of inclusivity and diversity in the global marketplace. We aim to help our students be ready for the global economy and the world. We understand that successful people have a global perspective and are videotaped to withstand various challenges. Our programs therefore focus on EDI to cover the different aspects of human interactions. For JABC, EDI is a crucial tool for success, and we will use its guiding principles in our programs, actions, and future plans. Our mission is to help students learn but also to ensure all students have the resources needed.

Feedback for JA programs is positive. Experience with the Company program is positive. People praise the organization. Many commend the insight, real-life experience and support provided in the program. This helps students have a better understanding. And build the necessary skills to be excellent. It also aids in clarifying which career path to choose. Some even agree that it impacted their choices. Whether in school or later in life. That is attributable to the life-altering experience. Also rewording the network they get from the peers and mentors is priceless. This would continue to provide life-long support. It is implied that they will not regret ever having chosen such a program. They only commend their recommendation for everyone. They believe in the value such programs provide.
