The experience prior and at the completion was smooth and easy, until I received the notice of property tax in June with a penalty as the deadline for advance payment was missed. It was my first time buying a property and I had no idea how the property tax schedule worked. When I mentioned this to the notary and questioned why it was not mentioned or highlighted during our brief 5-10 minutes appointment. They said it was buried in the documents given and they were not responsible for it. I mean we hired notary for their expertise and expected something important like a payment deadline should have been mentioned.
