The College was established in January 1969 with an operating funds agreement. During the first year of operation, the participating school districts provided financial support. In the summer of 1969, the College employed faculty to teach courses in its first academic program. The College of New Caledonia has been serving students in the Central Interior since 1969. The College serves students in the Central Interior of B.C. Its operation is situated on about 117.500 square miles. km. The population is currently over 148,000.
