Langley Olympians Swim Club provides practice and training groups for all levels of swimmers. Langley & Abbotsford Olympians Swim Club aims to give age-specific training to all our swimmers, challenging them to meet their potential. The focus will be on water comfort, with children learning how to safely swim between 15-25 meters. Kicking and proper body posture, breathing techniques, and how to swim competitive strokes like freestyle or backstroke will all be taught. They will also learn skills like listening, respect for their peers, and perseverance by hard work. We all recognize that each child moves at their own pace through the stroke correction, instruction, and evaluation program. Participants can continue their education with school and community members. The group will continue to focus on stroke improvement for all events. Swimming will be shown how to train for anaerobic and aerobic work as well as the dryland and flexibility programs. Swimming meets and attendance at practice are mandatory. The group represents a transition between the Olympic Way Group and the Provincial Group. Flexibility and drought training have also been introduced.
