The Lordco Auto Parts founders, Roy Lord and Ed Coates, decided to operate their first auto parts store in British Columbia, Canada, in 1974, specifically in Maple Ridge. Their outstanding service quickly earned them the trust and respect of the local residents. The provincial auto industry and their varied locations made them a widely-known auto parts store in BC and other regions in the country. In 1980, Roy sold his shop to Ed, who grew the company to 80 stores. And in 2014, he passed away. Ed Coates Memorial Foundation Founders, Marlyn, Samantha, Ian, Sarah, and Candace launched the organization to continue the founder's legacy. The family still runs the company and leads the Executive Leadership Team at Lordco Auto Parts in line with Mr Coates's values and ideals. Our early days were spent in a 900-square-foot facility. We have become the biggest Canadian privately-held automotive parts supplier and the leading aftermarket accessories and parts distributor in Western Canada. We currently have 80 stores, including nine truck centers, seven major distribution centers, 2,000 employees, 500 vehicle delivery fleet, and over 360,000 parts numbers. Our stores are located in Western Canada, where we work closely with our community to ensure development and sustainability.
