The University of Victoria Faculty of Law (UVic Law) has a strong national and international reputation for innovative research and teaching. We attract some of the best students and faculty from across the country. UVic Law has a supportive learning environment and excellent collegial atmosphere, with the faculty committed to social justice. Our faculty encourages a diverse range of legal scholarship, including feminist, historical and comparative, analytical, theoretical, and critical legal theory approaches. The LLM/Doctoral programs provide opportunities for advanced research at the cutting edge of law and society. Law and society are deeply intertwined, and each student must have an outside supervisor on their committee. Our program has had students who were supervised by scholars from philosophy, history, anthropology, and political science.
