Most reviews of the Manitoba Theatre for Young People are very favourable and positive, highlighting the benefits of the theatre. Several reviewers cite the accessible nature of the shows for children (especially the musicals and performances based on classic children's books like The Gruffalo) and the warm and engaging atmosphere that the theatre has for performers in classes, and programmes. Many reviewers also note the company's ability to develop young performers and provide them with a supportive community, whether at summer camps or four-week classes. This strong sense of community has helped many students to form lifelong connections to the arts. One mother, who has children, attended the MTYP praises the organisation of the theatre in their work. She expresses appreciation, but she has a little problem with it, and that is the part of the space being rented out by MTYP to some organisations. This affects their activities, as most of the space can't be accessed, she suggested they make it, and even if there an activity happening, the student can have some attention. The shows and camps are fun but also provide valuable learning. Visitors and participants of the theatre have given much recommendation to the institution, specifically the visitors of the theatre, appreciate the work of the teen students in the play, stating the learning these students learn is because of the training they undergo in the theatre. The theatre offers a range of educational shows and activities. Regardless of the organizational problem of renting space to other organizations, the theatre has remained a welcoming spot where kids explore and share memories and experiences.
