Yellow Derny Café's founder and head honcho, Tim Woodcock, started it with his idea of sharing with local cyclists his passion for coffee. He realized how cyclists in Europe and the world enjoyed cycling and then starting and ending a ride at a local café. This mix of cycling and coffee culture inspired Tim, and he came back to the country with plans to share this side of cycling with more people. Yellow Derny Cafe was born from the same vision that produced the company's other shops. The term derny was derived from the French Derny company that made the derny for a long time. These machines are motorized bikes. The bikes are used in six-day racing, Keirin, and motor-paced road races. Cyclists also use derny to train on the roads. This type of bike-shaped vehicle is called a derny as a general term used to describe all small motorcycle-paced vehicles, regardless of who made them.

Woodcock Cycle Cafe in Winnipeg seems to be a standout from recent reviews. One customer calls it the "best bike shop" also noted the location of the place being hidden but impressive. Also in reviews, the cycle shop is surrounded by coffee shops. Coffee shops are very common in the bike shop as customers have a variety of options to choose. Likewise, customers have experienced the cafe as a good client bike shop and exceptional in terms of pet friendliness. It also seems that the cafe has a variety of drink selection and easy to adapt to new changes. They are very consistent as some have only the usual green tea while many try the latte guava. The coffee shop reviews also mention their favourite drinks such as the latte as well as the cold brew that customers have had. In some, quite a number are seen to point out one of our favourite drinks to be the chai latte while others our frequent users loved the tastes of the red eye coffee. Moreover, other clients find the quirky blend but very unique, giving it a name of one of the drinks. Many of the cafes' unmatched services are also mentioned as the pet treats which make their experience countless. In conclusion, many reviews mention the geolocation of the cafe as looking over the river and the park. The view is a significant part of the cafe's reviews. Others also include google translations which give them an added advantage to many clients. The google translations are an added advantage to non-English customers who will always get the directions.
