CPA Nova Scotia is the governing body for professional accountants within the province. We strive to protect the public and advance the profession. Our association represents the full spectrum of accounting skills, including assurance, financial accounting, management, and tax. The Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is the title of the professional accountant in Nova Scotia. It was established on August 2, 2015, with the integration of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (CA), the Society of Management Accountants of Nova Scotia [CMA], and the Certified General Accountants Association of Nova Scotia (“CGA”).The most prestigious accounting and business designation in Canada is the CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation. Chartered Professional Accountants provide critical financial advice to individuals and businesses in all sectors of the economy. There are over 4,000 CPAs in Nova Scotia and 210,000 CPAs across Canada.
