I remember being little, lying on my back, staring at the ceiling, and letting my imagination turn our living room into an upside-down world where the furniture was glued to the sky. As an adult, I am most drawn to the fabric of everyday life - moments, and objects so common as to have become invisible over time. In a conversation that might have lasted months or years, I examine the same forms or scenes. This contemplative practice helps me see with fresh eyes every time. The findings are enriched by what I've learned from my years of Vajrayana Buddhist study and my years of Buddhist Nun training at Gampo Abbey. Additional valuable information for me is living on the edge of the North American continent. Every day, I get to look over the most spacious horizon. The feeling of space and spaciousness is rare for people, so this is what makes me stand out.
