At Sacred Heart School of Halifax, we believe that the arts are crucial to educating, cultivating, and nurturing well-rounded students. Our extraordinary visual and performing art programs highlight students' musical, theatrical, and painting talents. Music is everywhere in our School, and it's a fundamental part of our culture. From choral performances in the Senior School to Senior Choirs and Liturgy Choral Groups in School Events, music permeates everything. Elementary Choir has won numerous awards for its performances at school events and within the community. The Band Program is fantastic, with physical instruction at three different levels: Beginner Band (6th grade), Intermediate Band (7th grade), and Senior band (8-12th). All levels are highly enjoyable and creative ways to learn, listen, play, and experience music. Our students look forward to the Senior School Musical and Elementary School musicals. Our students have been working with music directors, producers, and directors for weeks. The elaborate sets, makeup, costumes, and sound are all breathtaking. The Visual Arts are so embedded in our School life and academics that it's tough to know where they begin and end. Our engaging and creative Elementary School Art Programs and Senior School Fine Arts Classes see students from all levels working together to create. Our school teachers are passionate about seeing what artists can create, and they inspire our students' creativity, abilities, and curiosity. Students are taught basic drawing techniques and explore many other techniques, while aesthetic and cultural aspects are also covered. Our students' work is displayed through exhibits and public art, such as the Dresden Row mural in downtown Halifax
