You Me Gallery was established in 1975 by a group of Hamilton artists. We rented a storefront on James North, close to Cannon, which was empty at the time. The intention was to use the gallery as a social backdrop for the artists to showcase their work and have conversations. Indeed we believed we were the only artists in town. After leaving the Inc., I became an Administrator. I have curated and worked as an administrator in various organizations that champion public art. Since I am here, there are many changes. The street is calm, with no nightclubs and terraces. It is a two-way street. The street lights are antique. The CN Station is now a banquet hall. James North has changed a lot (Kaitlin Junek, personal communication, October 1, 2016). The arts community began to move in when I bought 330 James North in Hamilton in 2002. James North is now the epicenter of Hamilton's arts district. You me gallery is a place will be a place that I wish established. I want to expose the public to the transformative power of art. The gallery should be a place where art and artists are valued. Excelsior, for both you and me. Reference

Most reviewers love the unique offerings at You Me Gallery, such as art shows and talks by artists in this gallery that is historical for the Hamilton community as well as cultural and artistic exhibitions. For example, one memorable exhibit was the Islamic Heritage Calligraphy show, which resonated with a visitor, who made note of the owner's kindness for showcasing a different cultural event in the gallery. Additionally, the owner of the gallery is particularly beloved, as one person noted after spending an eventful day with him. Because of the vast variety of items on display, including original work from different artists, others labelled the art shows great. Not all reviewers are so expansive. However, one claimed, "Outstanding!". Succinctly put, You Me Gallery is appreciated by many in the Hamilton area.
