In 1996 Companion Dog Training was established, and we opened on the second floor of a very large building in Guelph. You may remember the steep staircase leading to the classroom, as well as the hot, humid summer. That first winter was so cold that students wore boots and hats to class. Our first program offered Family Dog Training as well as Obedience and Agility. In October 1998, the school relocated to Speedvale Ave. in Guelph (ON). After three years, we were forced to move to our current rural Puslinch. Rally and Competitive obedience programs were developed here, and made for 17 years of success and accomplishments. We have so many titles and National Placements that our students have earned. Susie Bell, Bonnie Christie, and Amelia Christie added to the program along the way. Mary Monteith and her Cocker Spaniels (English Springer Spaniels) have been guests in the classes, adding their knowledge to the students.

The dog training center reviews are numerous, with most praising the facility and its trainers. Marie is a popular instructor and dog trainer, offering comprehensive take-home materials and proven positive reinforcement training. Other trainers also listen to your input and change the training program when necessary to ensure effective learning for both dog and owner. Reviewers also appreciate the advice given when they need to enroll their dogs in training programs appropriate for non-competitive pets. Despite this, there are reviews showing that the classes are more competitive focused than any other, leaving people in doubt about childcare. However, there are lots of daycare options available elsewhere. So, the positive comments about the effectiveness and the building's beauty outweigh the negatives.
