Criminal defense is my passion and my niche. It is the singular focus of my practice, to which I have dedicated my career. To prepare me for the criminal law trial experience, I specialized in forensic science during my undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Forensic Science degree. Understanding complex forensic aspects of your case is critical, and my undergraduate degree gives me the foundational knowledge necessary to understand them. I also worked as a clerk for various Judges at the London Ontario Court of Justice and gained valuable experience and perspective. Seeing the criminal justice system from a Judge's view gives me a unique understanding that I leverage daily in my law practice. I found the procedure and rationale behind criminal trials fascinating, as well as the operation of the courtroom. I also developed a personal interest in courts specializing in certain areas. Concerning these issues, my interest in specialty courts has sparked. I learned what Gladue courts are, as well as therapeutic courts focused on mental health and addiction factors. I also gained an understanding of what youth courts look like and how they are distinguished from regular criminal courts.
