In 1994, Tiernan Murphy (18 years old) taught 50 children how to swim at his backyard pool. After spending 15 years teaching swimming lessons in the City of Brampton, this accredited swimming instructor decided to teach swimming at home that summer and Making Waves Swim School began. To find out when our scheduled swim classes started, the first MWSS families left messages on our answering machine via Tiernan's phone. The first children learned how to swim well enough to proceed to the next level. We were excited about that news and wanted more information, so we dropped payments for some lessons into mailboxes of Tiernan's parents for a short while. At the time, transactions were less important than the progress our students made during their pool times. After 25 years and operating four locations: Brampton Milton Mississauga Vaughan. Making Waves Swim School teaches more than 7,000 children each week to learn-to swim. The first summer that Tiernan taught water safety has since produced thousands of confident swimmers. Our programs, which have won awards, retain the passion, care, and enthusiasm that Tiernan demonstrated. Parent and Tot Program is a fun class that will teach your child confidence. You will teach your child proper water safety skills and holding techniques during this class. Your child will be able to get used to swimming in water with other people. Such classes are recommended for children between the ages of 2 to 23 months old. The child will experience basic water safety and buoyancy skills. They will learn basic aquatic skills, including submerging parts of their face in the water. In addition, they will also learn floatation methods. (breathing control and buoyancy). Underwater25more will be taught how to hold their breath and push off the pool's side. Rolling over will be another approach to save your child from drowning, as Making Waves believes rolling overs can save someone's life. Since some kids cannot focus for a long period, songs and games can be included in the lesson for the kids to have fun.
