Alex passed the bar in 2020. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from Western University, he pursued a law degree in the UK at the University of Bristol. He returned to Canada after a brief stay in the UK, where he trained under Richard Braiden, Criminal Lawyer. Alex is zealous about social justice and shares Chris's drive. He got into Criminal Law when he started volunteering for John Howard Society Bail Program. This involved monitoring clients awaiting trial. This offered him insight into the daily lives of people who fight to live in a system that denies them basic needs. His clients see him as a well-informed, approachable, and nonevaluative advocate. Chris possibly dumps golf balls for a neighbourhood golf course whenever he is free. Chris is a 30-year trialist, and he founded a prosperous London practice. Chris is tough when it comes to members with intricate histories. These include addictions, severe mental illnesses, severe mental illness and learning disabilities, as well as clients with autism spectrum disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, acquired brain injury, as a result of trauma, or acquired brain injury. Chris won the Champion of Mental Health Award and the Access to Justice Award for his commitment to such clients. He received the Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for his efforts to establish London's specialty courts, which includes the Gladue Court for Indigenous Peoples and the Drug Treatment Court. Chris advocates for having clients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs met for justice to be served. Chris spends his off time connecting with nature, praying, and poetry.
