A Story Rich with History Our business is a story-rich one. Our roots go back 125 years or more. The stories that mean the most to us, particularly those who serve you today, tell us where we came from, and what we left behind. They are the stories of those who helped shape the funeral industry in our community. They also gave professional care to you and your neighbors that helped build the reputation we have today. It is our pleasure to share these stories with you. George A. Furtney, only 20 years old, was the youngest student to graduate from the Canadian School of Embalming. This auspicious start would launch a remarkable career lasting over 30 years and leave a mark on the London funeral services landscape. George was apprenticed at a London firm, which he later acquired. Although he continued to practice in Toronto, he only truly hit his stride when he started a partnership in 1957 at Arthur B. Ridley Funeral Home in Toronto. In 1962, James Logan the owner of Logan Funeral Home, sought to retire and sold his business. Furtney felt this was the right time to embark on his next chapter. The story of his life has cemented the legacy that would be entrusted to us in the years following.
