Dr. John Baird graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Toronto, in 1989. At the time, Dr. William Baird had been a chiropractor at his practice, the Markham Chiropractic Centre, since 1956. Dr. John Baird was the chiropractor in Markham, Ontario, who brought the Spinalyzer (c), the first-ever X-ray analysis device. He was a beta-tester and helped to implement new features for impairment ratings. In 2005, he brought the DMX Digital Dynamic Motion Xray system to Ontario, along with DXAnalyzer(c), the digital radiographic analysis software. A pixel-based calibration feature for the software was created by him and others. The Canadian Intellectual Property Office granted Dr. Baird the trademark for DMX Digital/Dynamic motion X-ray in 2006. Dr. Baird made major improvements to the DMX software, including DICOM implementation. Dr. Baird was the first chiropractor in Ontario to offer Atlas Orthogonal Adjustments in 2011. Dr. Scott Rosa collaborated with Dr. Baird for a chapter on "The Craniocervical Syndrome & MRI: Observations concerning the relationship between misalignment and obstruction of the Cerebrospinal fluid Flow, Cerebellar tonsillar Ectopic and Image-Guided correction" in 2015. Video fluoroscopy based tracking protocol for quantifying human intervertebral displacements was also co-authored by Dr. Baird for Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering. In 2016, Dr. Baird updated his Xray Lab with DICOM based digital radiography (DICOM) and Posture Ray Electronic Medical Recordings (EMR). This software allows us to offer electronic records of X-ray analysis to our patients on the same day they visit. Markham Chiropractic Centre has two Bioflex Laser Systems. Dr. Fred Kahn, a former surgeon, developed the Bioflex System (c). Dr. Norman Doidge dedicated an entire chapter to Dr. Khan in "The Brain's Way of Healing." The Markham Chiropractic Centre has developed a laser protocol that promotes the healing of ligaments at the craniocervical junction. Dr. Baird maintains the highest standard of chiropractic care and radiographic imaging.
