I’m not even sure where to begin. Perhaps it was the 3 delays which started off the experience on the wrong foot or the salesperson who disappeared out of thin air once the sale was locked in yet we still had questions.
Things got really bad the day they came to install, two our our windows were measured incorrectly. Rather than ordering new ones that fit in the casing they ripped out all trim in the bay window to make it fit, leaving us with damaged interior for months. They should have measured before installing and ordered us a new window. Finally the 3rd installer came months later to fix all the deficiencies and rather than reinstall our wood trim they put metal siding in which we said if that was the case, we would be seeking compensation. Not only that but the work that happened with the incorrect window sizes resulted in our contractor taking over 10 hours to fix the issues the installer could not taking hims away from our basement reno.
When sending nordik an invoice from all work done from our contractor and fact that they screwed up hugely and did not restore window trim they offered us 300 credit off final billing “final offer or we will send this to collections if not receiving payment in 2 days”. They are rude, have horrible business practices and do not use bully tactics on customers. We have consulted our lawyer and it feels petty and small of them to not take ownership of their mistakes. They refuse to compensate us for our contractor nor restore the trim. They have recently let us know they will not be corresponding anymore with us snd will proceed to collections. How can you go to collections when a case is not even closed? Their final “offer” was horrific and unfair.
Save yourself your time, money and sanity. Nordik is a nightmare to deal with and seems like many others have had the same experience.
We're in court.
They become unprofessional as soon as they received the deposit. Their price is very high but quality is poor.
They took more than six months to install my five windows with too many visits and surprises visits without appointment and finds so many reasons for that. They installed wrong windows. I don't recommend this company for anyone.
Purchased 5 windows and patio door. When the windows were being installed, in the middle of winter, my husband helped because there was only one installer. Then all the windows had to be readjusted by removing the windows from the frame and he had to caulk the gaps in the framing. The door was ordered to small but was put in anyway with one side having a 3 inch gap. We are having condensation developing on all windows and door when its cold outside. Nordic stated that our humidity is to high...25% is not high. We asked for a discount because of all the issues and time taken of work but nothing was offered. Nordic threatened to send our bill for the door to collections and a lein put on our house. This is how a big company stands by their products.
After the salesman had been I felt good and confident, since he left (been fired from the company) these windows have been a nightmare.
They have come multiple times with the wrong sized windows.
Not shown up for appointments which I have taken time off work for.
Promised things they can't and haven't delivered.
I really don't believe all these reviews they have anymore. I can't understand how it can be this bad.
DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY.
Nordik installed all of my windows in the last quarter. The job was not done well, to say the least. The windows completed near the end of the day, were done more poorly than the first few. I have included some pictures, a point form list of issues, and a summary at the end.
I filled out Nordik’s survey about the install and I have not heard back from them. Also, this job cost me over 15,000$ CAD. Have a look at the pictures I have included, if you choose to deal with this company, I wish you luck but I would advise against it. There are plenty of other companies out there.
-Caulking not done on interior windows
-External caulking on some windows looks like it was done by someone who had never done caulking before.
-Exterior office window on east side not fully caulked nor is the flashing even
-locking hardware not screwed in on some windows and on others looks used.
-Flashing on some windows is very uneven and very unprofessional.
-Flashing not done uniformly on all windows. Two windows used one method and the rest use another.
-Existing vinyl siding was broken in a couple of different spots, one spot so badly, animals/bugs/birds can get in.
-Moulding/trim on most interior windows looks chipped scratched/used. One piece has a large chunk missing.
-Bathroom window not frosted as requested with salesperson.
-After installation, windows were left extremely dirty. Normally a company charging this kind of money would want to detail their products to leave a showpiece/advertisement for other people
Summary: Requested estimate in Feb 2022. Salesperson came, told him what we wanted and he gives us info on 9/10 of our windows. Called him back and asked about the last window, the bay window upgrade we had requested. He had to come back again to go over things. We agree and at the end of April 2022, Nordik sent someone to take final measurements. Nordik books my first invoice for 9/10 of our windows for the end of Jun 2022. They day after completion, I called and asked about my bay window upgrade. They told me my invoice number was wrong and the salesperson no longer works for them. They resolve their confusion and then call me back days later asking to send someone to do a final measurement. I told them that had already been done and I have the broken moulding to prove it. Someone had forgot to enter the measurement into their system. Finally got a call and was told my install date.
On the install date, a contractor shows up and says he did not know he had to build out the bay window and had no hardware to do it, so he cancelled my appointment. They rescheduled my appointment for the weekend. Once this 2nd job was done, there were scratches all over the bottom outdoor flashing, one side is not properly sealed and some of the plywood frame is visible, with the right wind, water will get water in there.
