MDH’s board oversees operations, while clinical counselors and other staff members provide addiction therapy. This organization is housed in a 3-story building (main building) and two others that function as an outer structure. It has 14 residential units. The location is at the centre of Hintonburg. The bus stop is just a few steps away. MDH practices the social-learning-model-based general treatment. This treatment approach is built on the idea that addiction is a learned behavior that can be “unlearned” through creating new cognitive-behavioral patterns and coping tactics. Individuals with alcohol or drug utilization disorders will find the addiction treatment program helpful. We develop treatment plans with the client. The Supervised Apartment is available for residents on full parole and statutory release for two months, or 90 days in preparation for community integration.
