Riverside Montessori Pre-School

Founded in 2001 as an independent school under the A.M.S. agreement. We are an authorized educational preschool, approved by the Ministry of Education. However, RMPS receives no financial support from any government level. RMPS is an actual school and not a community-based program. RMPS has been a corresponding school with A.M.S. for a long time. This implies it is an advocate of excellence in professional teaching. We are also a member of the Ontario Federation of Independent Schools (O.F.I.S.). Such affiliations suggest that schools offer the finest Montessori education. Riverside Montessori Pre-School is grounded in the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and the pedagogical techniques of Dr. Montessori to educate and train children to their maximum potential. RMPS aims to develop a learning environment in which children feel safe, loved, and empowered. The RMPS community encourages children to be responsible for their actions, show respect and cooperation, tidy up after themselves, and make choices in an educational atmosphere. This nurturing foundation allows each child to realize his/her potential. In this way, the pre-school helps develop the child's moral character, promote human virtues, and create a peaceful, non-competitive environment. The child learns critical thought processes, choices, and respect for people in all grades. The Montessori-trained teacher helps the child make decisions about what will benefit the child. This approach fosters independence, self-worth, and personal development. Riverside Montessori Preschool offers a Toddler Montessori Program for children from 13 months to 3 years and Bilingual Montessori Junior and Senior Kindergarten for children between 3-6 years old.
