Saint Paul University, formerly known as the "College of Bytown" and "College of Ottawa," was founded in September 1848 as The College of Bytown and traditionally claims to be the oldest degree-granting Roman Catholic institution in Canada, when the College of Bytown was entrusted to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Bishop Guigues officially transferred the College to Mary Immaculate in 1856. The College of Bytown, reorganized and renamed the "College of Ottawa," was granted university status on August 18, 1966 by the Government of Canada. The pontifical charter was conferred on the College of Ottawa by Leo XIII's letters dated February 5, 1889. It is an independent institution federated with the University of Ottawa. The institution is managed by the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Through the Catholic intellectual tradition, Saint Paul University, a higher education and research community, ensures that knowledge is embraced freely and expresses its commitment to discussions with faith, reason, and culture. This tradition gives the university the capacity to pursue the truth and promote human dignity, justice, and peace, all while educating the poor and promoting Oblate values. The university is also committed to being bilingual and inclusive, promoting mutual understanding among believers of various faiths and non-believers, in a spirit of openness. This unique education strives to combine learning, research, and social involvement. Saint Paul University is a leading institution and an active participant in dialogues on the most pressing current issues and plays a significant role in promoting social justice.

The reviews show that many hold Saint Paul University in high esteem. These individuals are enthusiastic about the atmosphere there and its theological focus. It is evident students cherish highly the professors and small classes because the camaraderie and knowledge learned enabled them to engage in their faith. Hearing about the institution, the strong presence of course instructor Pat in First Aid and CPR courses from Heart2Heart is encouraging. Pat's strength is her deep knowledge, caring nature, and commitment to instructing her students how to use best practices in CPR and First Aid. I also read a few accounts of learners who want to get a scholarship and enroll whenever they could. Needless to say, every review is positive, making the university a desirous place to study and work.
