Listen to me- DO NOT GO HERE! The staff changes non stop and the people who do laser are brand new and will burn you. The owner and “manager” will not take any owner ship and they will put blame on their staff, put their private business on blast and then tell us that they’re not refunding so shit out of luck. Do not go here, you will never be able to get consistent service, forget good service, and the owner will never take accountability for anything. She’s the one training the girls .. so it’s her your fault and your responsibility! It’s a cheap place, don’t for it unless you want to lose your money. I spent $1695 and won’t see it again
Moral of the story: F***k this salon if you are a person of color. Abort mission. They WILL burn you during laser hair removal more than once, Guaranteed! Waiver or no waiver they don’t care.
Long-story short: The staff are not trained to do laser on all people of color ! Sevra burned me twice. Jenn and Kaitlin basically just told me to go buy some polysporin and get over it. Then they were acting as if i had done something wrong as the burned client asking for them to make it right. I was harmed as a result of poorly trained staff with no accountability, there was no waiver signed when they started the laser and burned me. That’s a law suit right there. I tried to find an amicable resolve, but the staff is looking out for eachother, while screwing over paying clients who mainly have brown skin, claiming “well there’s always a chance you’ll get burned”…. I’ve been getting laser in different cities for 2 years with other lasers and techs and I’ve never been burned until i came to solange medical spa. They wasted 3 months postponing my 1st appointment, i paid them over $1000 cash for a non-refundable package of laser sessions, they burned me twice, cancelled my next appointment without notice and stopped answering my emails.
Full story part 1: First of all, they don’t even have a single person with brown skin to show the range of types of clients the laser is safe for, and that they have experience with.
When i asked, they assured me that the laser is safe for everyone and the staff is trained professionally. I still requested the most experienced person to avoid any possible chance of burns. After 3 months of them postponing my 1st session, i finally come in, and sevrah said she was doing my laser. Now I’m on the bed, and sevrah had to stop and call Jenn in to ask how high to put the laser every single time she started a new area. It took forever, i was wondering if she was still in training or something!!! Then she thought she could do by herself and didn’t call Jenn onetime, then Sevrah burns me in my vaginal region!!! Then she continues, again without Jen and burnt my neck even worse. Both burns were very painful, no one apologized not Jenn or sevrah. She just called Jen and Jen said “oh that’s not too bad it’s just a little burn, just put some polysporin on it and it’ll go away in a few days…..” I’m a woman of color that’s NOT how it works AT ALL, a true professional would know that.
So naturally a few days later the scar darkened anyway, i told Jenn i don’t ever want sevrah doing my laser because she’s not professional and clearly doesn’t have enough training or experience doing laser on people of color with brown skin in particular. Then I sent 2 photos of my burns to Jenn.
Jens response Instead of being empathetic and apologizing, she immediately started gaslighting me and telling “me it’s not that bad it’ll go away soon and put some polysporin on it”. Then she proceeds to try to justify burning me by saying “well I told you there was a chance you could get burned “. I never saw or signed a waiver, i was never told about a waiver, and no one confirmed that a waiver was signed before they began laser hair removal on me. I paid them over $1000 in full cash in advance based on the fact that they said the laser was safe for everyone and that the staff is trained to be extremely careful to have no burn incidences.
When i told Kaitlin, it’s the principal; polysporin and a refund is not a solution when I’m still left with scars that will take years to heal.
Solange spa needs to be held accountable!
There are way too many salons and aestheticians doing laser hair removal claiming to be “professional” when they have no clue how to handle a laser when it comes to people of all color with ALL different skin or hair types.
With the rise of personal injury cases from laser,If you’re going to call yourself a professional, make sure you are equally professional right across the board to service all safely.
Reporting this case to the Better Business Bureau, CBC news and and all my other media partners
The whole place is an unorganized chaotic mess. From booking sites being inaccurate to Google maps bringing you to the wrong location, that should of been my first red flag. Upon arrival it was a very shoddy building and the office was almost hidden, I had to ask for help to navigate it. When I got to my appt I was told Botox wasn’t offered, even though it was stated on the website it was and was given some off brand toxin that I have never heard of before. When I got my injections there were air bubbles injected into my face 3 times. As someone who’s been getting Botox injections for 10+ yrs I’ve never dealt with air bubbles or pain and bruising from after my injections. Unfortunately my face has been sore ever since the injections, which is completely NOT normal. After reaching out to the owner Jenn regarding the false advertising of the Botox brand I was belittled and laughed at. I didn’t even get the chance to explain how my face felt because she kept talking about the paperwork I signed, knowing that her paperwork meant more than what a client was going through. She stated I wasn’t getting a refund although I never asked for one, you could just tell she’s money hungry. The unprofessionalism from an owner is something I’ve never witnessed before in my whole life. Please don’t waste your time here. The only reason this place has any 5 star reviews is because they give you a money off incentive for leaving a 5 star review. Go to a reputable and good medical aesthetic clinic. If the deal seems too good to be true, it is. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and would advise to stay clear.
