The Westboro Village Co-Operative Preschool Inc. is a licensed non-profit childcare centre in Ottawa, Ontario. It is a not-for-profit organization. Thirty years ago, the school was established on the principle of children learning best through exploration, play, and inquiry. We also believe that parents play a critical role in a child's educational success. Our goal is to provide infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families with a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Expression, Belonging, and Well-Being are our four fundamental learning foundations (ELECT frameworks). Cooperative learning is a family-centred approach that encourages teachers and parents to collaborate, share ideas, and create connections, thus building a strong community. It provides authentic learning experiences for children and their parents in the program. Our preschool program is for children aged 2 and 3 years old. Preschool readiness is our priority. Westboro's stepping stones program is a kindergarten readiness program designed to allow for a full-day kindergarten experience. This program is based on children's interests and questions. This structure is comparable to that of Full-Day Kindergarten in Ontario. Preschoolers take responsibility for their learning, and learning and leadership are supported by educators

The reviews for WVCP are excellent. Parents report a variety of positive experiences. Their children are loving their time at the centre. They are learning a lot and having fun. The teachers are kind and supportive. This means children doing well. The local community is also inclusive. Also, there are clearly many benefits of this particular preschool. This includes how it prepares children for the future. Parents like the flexibility of the school days as well. Many parents would recommend this school to other parents.
