We've been in business since 2008 and is currently a woman-run business. Janice Clark is the current owner and operator. Janice Clark has been actively involved with the archery sport since 2006. She participated in shooting in competitions in the Olympics in 2012 in London and the Pan Am Games in 2015. She was not named to either team, but she will always be an Olympian and a Pan Am Games athlete. Since 2012, Janice has been certified as a NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program), Competition Development Coach, which is the highest level of coaching certification in the sport of archery. Janice also taught archery throughout her career as a competitive archer, in addition to running an extensive archery program at a sports complex from 2007.

I have thought of many ways to write this review and I’m going to begin with a spoiler: In my opinion, Xquest is the best, most professional archery facility in Ottawa and the best location that I have personally seen in three different provinces that I have engaged in Archery.
That in of itself is all you really need to know to begin your archery journey. Xquest is THE place to learn archery in Ottawa. Yes, I know there is another large sports complex that everyone is familiar with and usually comes to mind, however, I have taken lessons at that location myself and can personally from experience say that there is no comparison. The ‘other place’ lacks the professionalism and expertise that Xquest has many times over. Even before learning the skills that I have obtained studying archery at Xquest, I knew there was something lacking at the ‘other place’. Knowing what I do now, I should have come to Xquest first!
Let me save you the time, money and disappointment and just direct you straight to Xquest Archery. This place has at least five Coaching Association of Canada Certified coaches of various levels to help you on your way to archery mastery. They are all amazing and very personable!
The question you have to ask yourself is what do you want to do with archery? Do you want to learn the safety and basics of archery? You can do that here. Do you want to go past the basics and begin developing a skillset that can take you into a very cool and enjoyable pass-time? You can do that as well. Want to join the club as a member, take part in social nights and friendly competitions? You guessed it, you can do that as well.
Or, do you want to take it to the next level and enter local, regional and even national tournaments competing for medals and challenging yourself to become super-skilled in this ancient art and sport? If that’s your dream, you can make that happen as well.
But who am I and what do I know about archery? Currently I am the Masters division gold medal winner from the 2022 Canadian Nationals archery tournament. How did I get there? The incredible coaching I received from the team at Xquest Archery. In particular, the head coach and owner of Xquest, Janice Clark. She is one of the few top archery coaches in Canada to hold the NCCP Certification of Competitive Development Coach. Janice has also competed in the London Olympic trials in 2012 and Pan Am Championships in 2015; she also holds several Canadian archery records!
For archery coaching, it just doesn’t get any better than this!
What do you want to do in archery? How far do you want to go? Do you want a new challenge, a new pass-time or a serious competitive sport? I highly recommend giving Xquest Archery a shot (pun may be intended).
As soon as you walk through the doors, you can see this place is a professional, clean, top end archery facility. The coaches are great and the atmosphere is light and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I’m very glad I took the time to research and find this company, I have no regrets and so much more to look forward to and with the coaching I’m receiving, I’m sure there will be many more medals hanging on my wall in the future as well!
If you are thinking of learning archery, do it! Go to the Xquest website, sign up for some classes and I will probably see you at the range one day! I’ll either be in class with you or practicing my archery skills as I’m there almost every day! I love this sport and the people involved that make it such an amazing experience.
