KPMB Architects, a Canadian design practice founded in 1987, is recognized worldwide. We have over 400 awards for our broad scope of work, which includes 18 Governor General's Medals, Canada's highest architectural honor. Bruce Kuwabara, Marianne McKenna, and Shirley Blumberg received the Order of Canada, acknowledging each of their individual achievements and KPMB's collective contribution to enhancing human lives through architecture. Since 1987, KPMB has evolved in response to changing circumstances, focusing on social and environmental impact. In 2021, we deepened our leadership team and promoted seven new partners: Kevin Bridgman (Steven Casey), Phyllis Crawford (Andrew Dyke), Mitchell Hall, Paulo Rocha, Bruno Weber, and Phyllis Crawford. We offer full-service design, interior design, building design, urban design, and workplace strategy. KPMB has designed more than 3 million square meters of buildings across several sectors, including healthcare, education, research and culture, hospitality, leisure, and mixed-use. Our team is over 150 strong. Our integrated approach ensures we assemble multidisciplinary teams and design generative buildings that respond to our clients' needs. KPMB LAB was founded in 2015 by us. This is a workshop for concepts, skills, and services designed to address key problems and imagine different futures through collaborative innovation. KPMB is dedicated to a better future for everyone through architecture and design, grounded in our vision and informed by our core principles. Our main office is in Toronto, one of the world's most diverse and dynamic cities. Our tech team set up a virtual headquarters to support remote work quickly and effectively. Our “hybrid first” strategy, launched in February 2022, means our networked physical head office, remote home office, and virtual offices all work together.
