The Law Society of Saskatchewan has registered Mark Brayford as a specialist in criminal law. He boasts vast experience in handling various criminal trials. Throughout his career, he has tackled different criminal cases, including shoplifting and murder cases. His work covers Western Canada and Ontario, where he takes on all types of criminal trials, including drug, driving, murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, weapons, weapon charges, and wildlife charges. Brayford has handled criminal law for more than 20 years. His leadership roles include serving as the President of the Canada Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, and President of the Saskatoon Criminal Defence Lawyers Association. He also served on the Provincial Court Bar Judicial Council, Queen's Bench Bar Judicial Council, and the Canadian Bar Association's National Executive Council. He is the current Vice-President and National Director of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers. He has given lectures, ranging from criminal law to human rights at the College of Law and continuing legal education programs. He has also lectured at the Saskatchewan Bar Admission Course, the University of Western Ontario Law School, Queen's Law School in Queen's University, and the University of Calgary Law School. He has also spoken at the Alberta Criminal Trial Lawyers Association and the Montreal Criminal Defence Lawyers, where he sometimes serves as a guest panelist. He has published over a dozen articles in Criminal Defence Lawyers Newsletter and has been counsel to many precedent-setting cases, with over 100 reported in Law Journals. Brayford is a Courtworker, appearing in the Supreme Court of Canada and Trial and Appellate Courts of Saskatchewan and Alberta.
