About this business

Intellistart Law Firm Marketing Leeds: Customer feedback summary: My experience with Intellistart was deeply disappointing and ultimately short lived due to sustained underperformance, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. I recognise that no agency can guarantee results, but my experience did not meet any of what was anticipated. From the outset, I raised concerns about the achievability of the 5:1 return on ad spend that was discussed. Despite this, JC repeatedly expressed confidence that this level of performance was achievable and aligned with Intellistart’s standard operating model, and on that basis we proceeded. In reality, after approximately four months, the campaigns failed to come close to even a basic 3:1 return, let alone the figures presented at the start. As performance continued to fall short and ROI did not materialise, the narrative shifted. The same figures that were initially used to justify engagement were later described as aspirational only, with responsibility increasingly attributed to market conditions and the absence of guarantees. While I fully understand that no agency can guarantee results, our concern was not about guarantees. It was about persistent underperformance combined with a lack of proactive optimisation, meaningful review, and ownership of outcomes over an extended period. Alongside performance concerns, communication and support were poor. When concerns were raised around lead quality and campaign effectiveness, responses frequently focused on process explanations, particularly the need for us to update CRM records so feedback could be passed back to Google. While we engaged with this, there remained a wider concern that the campaigns themselves were not being actively monitored or managed in line with what had been presented at the outset. At one point, following continued underperformance and an absence of professional follow-ups or even basic touch-base communication, we deliberately paused CRM lead updates for a short period to see whether this would be noticed. NO contact was made during that time, reinforcing our concern that the account was not being actively overseen. After continued underperformance and lack of results, at the start of December, I asked JC for a recovery plan and a review ... Due to the lack of results, what we consider to be wasted ad spend, inadequate support, and the issues outlined above, we decided to terminate the relationship on 15th of December. Following this, actions were taken that caused real serious concern. Without our knowledge or consent, our ads were paused and our PPC landing page was taken offline, resulting in a 404 error being displayed. Although this was technically related to a domain transfer (which all parties were aware of), we were not informed that these changes had been implemented. We only became aware there was an issue after a prospective client contacted us to say they could not access the landing page and were concerned it appeared illegitimate; as a result, we LOST that business. When we queried this with JC, we were told only at that point what had been done. When we asked why we had not been informed in advance so the transition could have been managed and disruption avoided, no response followed and still hasn't to present. These actions unnecessarily exposed our business to operational disruption and reputational risk and were the reason we terminated with immediate effect rather than continuing until the previously agreed end date of 24th of December. We moved quickly to regain full control of all accounts and assets. For clarity, the breakdown of this relationship was not due to any conduct on our part. It resulted from sustained underperformance, lack of proactive support, and the events described above, and more importantly was brought to an abrupt earlier conclusion following the final actions taken by JC after termination notice was served. The engagement concluded swiftly only after actions were taken that exposed our business to unnecessary risk. This review reflects our personal experience only. I would strongly encourage anyone considering working with Intellistart to carry out extensive independent research, request verifiable case studies, and ensure expectations, asset ownership, access rights, and exit processes are clearly documented before committing to any project or spend.
