Cantor's Driving School was founded in 1976 by Allan Cantor in Philadelphia. Cantor was a father of four, history teacher, and disciplinarian at Overbrook High School. He taught teenagers how a car works part-time on weekends, and within a short time, he had taught almost every teenager in the region how to drive. Allan was the most respected driving instructor in Philadelphia, and he was known for his personality and ability to relate to students. It was okay to stop by Philadelphia Cheesesteak for a lesson. That's why his students loved him. The 1970s was a different era, but times and circumstances change. Cantor's Driving School has been about Safety, Family, and Community. As the years went by, Cantor’s Driving School expanded to other Philadelphia neighborhoods as his children grew and the baby of the family, Frank, joined him.
