ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Ron Caya, the visionary founder of New School for the Arts & Academics, conceived the idea of a school that would connect the arts to academia. He wanted a school that would provide an arts edge to students and prepare them to become future teachers and artists. Dean Caya was excited to see NSAA evolve as a professional artist faculty that teaches its students. For a school community to be successful, its teachers must be the best there is in their fields and actively engaged in their local communities. Ron Caya's vision was put into practice when New School for the Arts & Academics in Scottsdale opened its doors to its first class of young artists. New School for the Arts & Academics is a public charter school offering challenging and complete course work for young artists. The school also prepares students for post-secondary education. Teaching techniques align with Arizona and National standards. The school's other distinctive characteristic is the art integration in all courses in the classroom. The NSAA students use art to make cognitive connections with academics as professional artists and teachers lead them.
