Elizabeth was born in Upstate New York but moved to Arizona after high school. She moved to Arizona to study at Arizona State University. She changed her career trajectory from a high school teacher to a private, tutoring educator. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. Elizabeth, an elementary teacher for nine years, started The Art of Learning when she decided to leave the classroom due to the number of children she could help on her terms.
